Srinagar, Aug 26 (KNA): Authorities are not going to allow Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir Molvi Mohammad Umar Farooq to come to Jamia Masjid or Friday prayers and majlis-e waz-o tableeg.

An official told Kashmir News Apex- (KNA) that Mirwaiz will continue to remain house arrest and won't be allowed to lead Friday prayers.

Anjuman e Auqaf on Thursday had hoped that Mirwaiz will be allowed to address the gathering as the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has made astonishing claims to a foreign media channel that “he has no restrictions”.

They had said that for the last three years, the pulpit of Jama Masjid has fallen silent, due to Mirwaiz’s house arrest, and despite repeated appeals from all sections for his release, he has forcibly been detained at home, causing grief to people.

Notably LG Manoj Sinha in a interview with international media had claimed that Mirwaiz is free. (KNA)
