Grievance Regarding Result Discrepancy and Exam Center Mismanagement for the 2022 Batch

Srinagar, Dec 24 (SNO):A wave of frustration has swept through students of the 2022 batch at Gandhi Memorial College as issues surrounding exam results and mismanagement of exam centers come to light.
One of the affected students revealed the troubling sequence of events that began during their 3rd-semester regular exams. Despite completing all the papers alongside their colleagues, the student found their result missing on the result declaration day. Several others faced the same issue.
Efforts to resolve the problem led the student to approach the college administration, who directed them to Kashmir University. However, the university staff failed to provide a concrete resolution, vaguely stating that the result would be updated in due time. After repeated visits to the college, the student was informed that the result was withheld due to a shortage of attendance. The student expressed surprise, questioning why they were permitted to appear for the exams if attendance was an issue, but the college offered no satisfactory response.
According to the News Agency Srinagar News observer (SNO), Now enrolled in the 5th semester, the student faces further complications. With the 5th-semester exams scheduled to start soon, Kashmir University recently issued an admit card for the 3rd-semester backlog exams. The 3rd-semester paper was set for December 24, while the 5th-semester paper is on December 27, leaving only a two-day gap.
Initially, the admit card for the backlog exam listed Gandhi Memorial College as the exam center. However, just a day before the exam, the center was abruptly changed to a far-off location. This last-minute change, reflected in an updated admit card, caused significant inconvenience. What made the situation worse was that students were not informed about this change through college groups or any official communication. They were only made aware of the center change after checking the updated admit card.
The student has retained proof of both admit cards, showing the sudden alteration in the exam center. When the student approached the college about this issue, the administration claimed the decision was made by Kashmir University and was beyond their jurisdiction.
This situation has left students disheartened, questioning the accountability and coordination between the college and university authorities. They are demanding clarity and swift action to address these recurring issues, as such mismanagement disrupts their academic journey and adds unnecessary stress. — (SNO)
